Marcela, in her own words

From waxing to skin care

I started at eighteen, and for years this town knew me as Marce the waxer: punctual, reliable, committed. I held on to that reputation while I married, moved house and became a mother.

Life made me start again more than once. The last time the rent quadrupled overnight: I went back to working in my own living room, far from the centre, certain my clients would leave me. They did not leave me.

What I never stopped was studying. Bahía Blanca, Barcelona, congresses, courses. Today I work with a cosmiatría qualification and with equipment nobody else in this town has.

Outside the studio I run, and I rarely miss an event around the region. It is the same steadiness, pointed elsewhere. And there is more coming.

The road here

  1. At 18

    My aunt's laundry room

    That is where it started. It was tiny, but my clients already could not help remarking how well set up it was.

  2. Later

    A room in the yard

    My aunt built it for me: wide and full of light. There I felt like a queen. By then the town knew me as Marce the waxer.

  3. Bahía Blanca

    Back to studying

    Once the children were older and new hair removal methods were making noise, I travelled to train. My technique improved enormously.

  4. 2010

    The first place downtown

    I rented the first one. It was the only one, and others followed the example afterwards.

    A mention from the town

    Coronel Suárez gave me a special mention for the work.

  6. 2014

    Laser operator

    I qualified and worked in laser hair removal at a clinic, until I decided to keep only Mundo Íntimo.

    Brows and lashes

    A bigger place, and training in brow shaping and lamination and in lash lifting.

  8. 2020

    The pandemic, and the rent

    It swept my plans away for a few months. Then the rent quadrupled overnight. I cried over it, and I had to move.

    Far from the centre, certain my clients would leave me. They did not leave me.

    I travelled to take classes, while a beautiful studio was being built at my house.

The training never stopped

Every year brings congresses, workshops and courses. Among them BAAS, the largest aesthetics gathering in the country, over three days. No technique enters the studio before the training is done.

What you take home

The studio sells products too, but there is no shelf to browse on your own. Your skin gets looked at first, and the recommendation comes after.

A cream can be very good and still be wrong for you. It usually comes down to how much, in what order and at what time of day it is used, and none of that is printed on the box. Which is why here a product comes out of the consultation, not off a shelf.

How it gets chosen

  1. Your skin gets read

    Under good light, by hand, and with the usual questions: how you are sleeping, what you use now, what last summer did to you.

  2. The product is chosen

    One or two products, the ones your skin needs now, with the amount and the order written down so nothing is guesswork at home.

  3. It gets adjusted

    A few weeks on, we look at how the skin answered. If something did not sit well it changes; if it worked, it stays.

They are professional lines from the same laboratories used in the treatment room: cleansers, serums, day and night creams, sunscreen and products for sensitive skin. If you already have something at home, bring it: often it is enough to put what you already use in the right order.

The equipment

A machine does not give a treatment: the person who knows why to switch it on does. These are the ones in the studio, and each arrived after the training to use it.

Celluma LED light panels during a session

Celluma

One of the first in the country, and the only one in town.

An FDA-cleared LED light cabin, brought over from Europe.

It combines blue, red and infrared light. It works without contact and without pain, and needs no recovery, so it can be combined with other treatments the same day.

If you have never tried LED, you can book a single session and see how your skin answers.

    WhyIt photographs the face from several angles, always in the same position, so each session can be compared with the last. A handheld digital magnifier looks at the skin up close and measures hydration.

    WhyIt exfoliates gently and, in the same pass, carries water-based actives into the skin to hydrate, calm and nourish it. Skin comes out smooth and makeup sits better on it.

    WhenWhen skin looks dull or feels rough, and before an event. The actives change with the skin, and sensitive skin gets its own.

    A good first treatment: it is gentle and leaves no marks.

    WhyIt warms the deeper layers to stimulate collagen and elastin. It works on fine lines, texture and pores with little recovery, and results appear gradually.

    WhenWhen the line of the jaw starts to soften or fine lines appear. We build a course of sessions and compare against the scanner photos from the first day.

    WhyControlled micro-punctures stimulate the skin to repair itself. It is the deepest treatment in the studio.
